Mods guide

Quick answer

Gladio Mori has official mod support through mod.io, added in December 2025 in the lead-up to the 1.0 release. The community was already modding the game before that — the developers' update posts openly celebrate mods "going viral" — and the official integration turned it into a first-class feature. Mods cover custom movesets, skins, textures and more.

This page covers what mod support looks like in 1.0, how installing works, and what to watch out for.

What mod support actually is

  • Official mod.io integration. Gladio Mori connects to mod.io, the mod hosting platform — mods are browsed and installed through the game's integration rather than patched by hand.
  • The community ships real content. The most popular mod categories in update-note mentions: movesets (custom fighting styles), skins and texture work (custom appearances, alternate looks for arenas and fighters).
  • Mods and the move editor overlap. The in-game move editor exports movesets; mods extend what can be done beyond the editor's limits. For the editor itself, see the move editor guide.

Installing mods: the safe path

  1. Start in-game. Open the mod.io section from the main menu and search for Gladio Mori content. This binds mods to the correct game version and handles installation automatically.
  2. Check the version tag first. Anything published before 1.0 may still work, but movesets and skins that touch game systems should list the patch they were built for (current: 1.0.2.1). When in doubt, sort by recently updated.
  3. Subscribe, then verify in game. After subscribing, open the game's mod list to confirm the mod loaded. A mod that does not appear there is not active, no matter what the website said.
  4. Test in campaign or a private lobby first. First rule of modded movesets: never take a fresh install straight into a public ranked match.
  5. Unsubscribe cleanly. Removing a mod through the mod.io interface in-game avoids the "missing content" state on the next launch.

What to avoid

  • Mods from anywhere that is not mod.io. The community's mods live on the official platform now; files passed around through Discord are unvetted and are the only realistic way to hurt your install.
  • Version-locked utility mods after a patch. Tool-style mods (that touch the editor or match flow) are the first casualties of each hotfix. Re-check them after every patch — launch week moved fast.
  • Assuming mods are cosmetic. Moveset mods change how fighters behave in your matches. In public lobbies, expect some players to treat mod content as content, and some to be annoyed by it — the community is still deciding its norms here.

Where to go next
